The construction of TGV lines has made acceleration an essential factor that must be considered with regard to passenger comfort and safety standards.
To obtain precise track geometry, a new generation of machines has been developed, in particular heavy-duty tamping and straightening machines designed to meet the strict criteria. Their use of computer-aided control enables them to work within extremely low tolerances and means that the result can be checked immediately and the meamsurement recorded graphically.
