The central arch has a span of 120 metres and is made up of 6 elements that are 20m in length and 1.3m thick. This supports a deck that is only 3 cm thick.
This exceptional achievement was made possible by the use of a new material: DUCTAL ® .
A concrete of the 21st century
Ductal ® is five times stronger than ordinary concrete and twice as strong as the best concrete hitherto available.
The arch is constructed from Ductal by VSL-Intrafor, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction.
