A number of different studies must be performed in order to design a road.
Before a road is built, various types of design work and studies are performed simultaneously, for example geometric design and environmental studies. A large number of experts assist the engineers for the latter, for example ecologists, geographers, archeologists, sociologists, landscape architects, sociologists, architects and naturalists.

This work is long and complex, but necessary in order to arrive at a road project. It takes place over a long period of time in a number of stages and includes:

  • preliminary studies, which lead to this decision to construct the road;
  • design work, in the course of which the elements making up the structure are specified;
  • monitoring of works, acceptance, and opening of the road by the network manager.
