The CERIB (the Concrete Industry Research Centre) is a state-approved body set up jointly in 1967 eby the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Finance and the Economy at the request of the Concrete Industry Federation (FIB).

The CERIB (the Concrete Industry Research Centre) is a state-approved body set up jointly in 1967 by the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Finance and the Economy at the request of the Concrete Industry Federation (FIB).

This is the sector’s only dedicated technical centre in Europe. It helps to promote technical advance and improve the performance and quality of prefabricated concrete products. It also conducts many activities in the field of research and service provision in the following principal areas: materials, manufacturing, quality, products and structures, health and the environment, promotion and information.

It is approved by AFNOR Certification and by the FIB for the certification of 20 types of construction product.

The CERIB is a French government notified body as regards awarding CE marking for types of construction product and is accredited by the COFRAC for tests on construction products, for force, mass and pressure calibration and for the certification of industrial prodcuts and services.

It is also a training centre with ISO 9001 certification.

The Centre’s 145-strong staff have at their disposal the most sophisticated equipment for conducting experiments, tests and research.

They participate in European standardization work and frequently provide assistance in factories.
